Family-owned electrical engineering firm Griffdon Engineering has announced the creation of 48 new jobs at its headquarters in Ballaghaderreen, Co. Roscommon, marking a significant expansion for the company.
The announcement was made at an event held at the company’s offices today, attended by Minister of State for Employment, Small Business and Retail, and the Circular Economy, Alan Dillon T.D., and Jenny Melia, CEO Designate of Enterprise Ireland.
The job creation is supported by Enterprise Ireland’s Company Development Fund. Assistance in securing the funding was provided by Future Cast, a not-for-profit innovation, education, and R&D centre based in Manorhamilton, Co. Leitrim, that focuses on supporting the construction, manufacturing, and quarrying sectors.
The expansion is expected to strengthen local employment opportunities and build advanced skills in electrical service and maintenance, a sector seeing increasing demand from multinational clients in technology, pharmaceuticals, and agrifood. Griffdon Engineering also serves the semiconductor, oil and gas, renewable energy, and data centre construction sectors.
Led by Managing Director Seamus Griffin and EHS Director Elayne Griffin, the company is now under second-generation leadership. The siblings took over from their parents and company founders, Martin and Mary Griffin, in 2017. Since then, Griffdon Engineering has grown significantly, delivering large-scale projects across Ireland and throughout Europe.
The latest investment marks another milestone in the company's development, positioning it as a key player in the evolving landscape of industrial and multinational infrastructure services.
