The latest economic commentary regarding Ireland's housing sector indicates a more measured outlook for completions in the coming years. According to the ESRI's Quarterly Economic Commentary, Summer 2025, following just over 30,000 housing completions in 2024, which was noted as disappointing, recent forecasts suggest a more cautious pace of growth for 2025 and 2026.

The ESRI's projections anticipate approximately 33,000 housing completions in 2025, rising to just under 37,000 in 2026.

Even with the revised housing targets, the demand for skilled professionals across the entire construction ecosystem remains consistent. The industry continues to evolve, embracing new technologies, sustainable practices, and innovative approaches to meet the nation's broader development needs. Opportunities exist across various specialisms, from civil engineering and project management to sustainable building, mechanical and electrical roles, and specialist trades.

Construction Jobs Expo, Ireland’s leading recruitment event for the built environment, returns Saturday, 11th October, 2025 at Shelbourne Hall, RDS, Dublin, specifically designed to connect job seekers with employers who are actively recruiting for a wide range of roles across the full spectrum of the construction and engineering sectors.
