KWETB is running a 10 week full time Carpet and Vinyl Floor Cover Installation Course starting on the 4th July in Athy.
Kildare and Wicklow ETB, supports and co-ordinates education, training and youth services in Kildare and Wicklow. We specifically provide primary, post primary, post leaving certificate, apprenticeships, traineeships, youth services, music, community, outdoor and adult further education and training.
The purpose of this award is to enable the learner to install carpet and vinyl floor covering independently or under direction in both commercial and domestic settings.

Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of the Special Purpose Award in Carpet and Vinyl Floor Cover Installation learners will be able to:
1. Demonstrate a broad knowledge of processes and products applicable to the installation of
floor covering products.
2. Demonstrate a knowledge of a range of tools and methods used in the installation of floor
covering.
3. Demonstrate good practice in floor cover installation using appropriate methods as applicable
taking into account fabric type, positioning, pattern alignment, and finishing.
4. Work effectively under supervision in a variety of locations in conformance with health and
safety standards without being a danger to themselves or others.
